Fibromuscular Dysplasia in Children: Dr Kevin Meyers Explains

Kevin Meyers, MBBSc

Kevin Meyers, MBBSc, of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) talks about the incidence and symptoms of fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) in children. In Dr. Meyer's practice, most children with FMD have renal, rather than carotid, involvement.
As Dr Meyers explains in this interview, diagnosing FMD in children may often be made while a doctor is trying to manage another condition. It is during those procedures that a doctor may first notice the child has uncontrolled hypertension and it is that symptom that will lead to a diagnosis of FMD.
This interview took place during the Annual FMDSA Patient Meeting held in Cleveland, Ohio on May 20, 2017. For more information about FMD, visit
