RDR's Night of Heroes in Arlington

On the night of October 17th in Arlington, Virginia RDR’s Rare Disease Heroes Recognition dinner took place. There were tears, laughter, heartfelt moments and a zebra tie.

The room was filled with clinicians, researchers, advocates, patients and friends and not once was there a moment of silence since the dinner started. All the attendees came to honor those who deserve recognition, the heroes for the rare disease community.

MC Dean Suhr from the MLD foundation took us through the night as he introduced each reward recipient, the institution they come from and their area of study.

Each winner had their own unique personal story of what they do and why. Just looking around at the faces in the room reassured our winners what they’re doing matters and to never give up on their research.

For those who could not make it to Arlington to participate in this wonderful event, we streamed it live on our Facebook page to share these amazing moments with our global audience.
