A FMD Diagnosis Is Often Made While Looking For Something Else

MAY 30, 2017
James Radke

Cindy Speck of Virginia describes her diagnosis of fibromuscular dysplasia being the result of a clinician doing a scan to see if she had a salivary gland tumor (she did). Upon seeing a dissection, the ear nose and throat specialist immediately sent her to a specialist to treat the dissection. Eventually, the dissection improved but she also developed fibromuscular dysplasia in her carotid and renal arterties.

Cindy attended the FMDSA patient meeting in Cleveland Ohio to learn more about the condition and to help advocate for more treatment options.
