Stiff person syndrome is a devasting, painful condition that can be very stressful for the person with the rare condition. Unfortunately, that additional stress can also trigger more painful episodes.

In this interview, Scott Newsome, DO, Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins Medical talks about the psychology of stiff person syndrome, as well as the additional stressor that a patient with stiff person syndrome may be more susceptible to cancer.
