How to Train Your Seizure Dog

Brad Levy

At the Global Genes Patient Summit, we talked with Brad Levy, father of child with seizures about how dogs are currently being trained to help control children with epilepsy.

As Levy explains in this video, seizure dogs are trained to recognize the changes in scent of their owner’s saliva during a seizure and use that signal to secure the patient while the attack occurs.

Service dogs for epilepsy will be on display at the Epilepsy Awareness Day in Disneyland event being held November 6-8, 2017. Levy is the founder of that event.
